Awards at HFS
At Harlow Fields School, celebrating our pupils is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that every child’s journey is unique, and we take pride in noticing the small steps, the big achievements, and everything in between.
Our awards are designed to celebrate effort, progress, kindness and personal success-because every pupil deserves to feel valued and proud.
Weekly Awards
Each week, every class celebrates two pupils:
Learning Certificate
Awarded to a pupil who has shown effort, progress or achievement in their learning.
Citizen of the Week Certificate
Awarded to a pupil who has demonstrated kindness, positive behaviour, teamwork or a meaningful contribution to their class community.
Certificates are sent home so families can share in the celebration, and achievements are also shared on Earwig and school social media.
Our aim is simple: every pupil is recognised regularly. Class teams follow a rota to ensure that all pupils receive an award over the course of each term.
Half-Termly Awards
At the end of each half term, we celebrate pupils through our SLT Special Achievement Awards.
Each member of the Senior Leadership Team presents an award to one pupil from each department, recognising something truly special-whether that’s resilience, progress, confidence or a breakthrough moment.
Pupils receiving an SLT Award are also given an Amazon gift card as a further celebration of their achievement.
Termly Awards
At the end of each term, every pupil receives a Certificate of Achievement.
These awards are not based on points or totals. Instead, they reflect each pupil’s individual journey-celebrating progress, effort and personal success in a meaningful way.
Families are invited into school to share in this moment. Senior leaders visit each class to present certificates, creating a warm and proud celebration with pupils and their loved ones.
