Our Shared Vision
We believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. This agreement reflects our joint commitment to support each pupil’s individual learning journey in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
1. What You Can Expect from the School
· A warm, respectful, and inclusive environment that values each pupil as an individual.
· Personalised learning, support plans, and access to specialist staff and resources.
· Regular, clear communication through earwig, meetings, and updates.
· A consistent and skilled team who work collaboratively with families and professionals.
· A strong focus on safety, wellbeing, emotional development, and academic progress.
· Opportunities for families to contribute to school/college life and decision-making.
2. What the School Asks of Parents/Carers
· Support your child’s attendance, punctuality, and engagement with school life.
· Communicate openly with staff about any changes that may affect your child including medication and / or treatment(s).
· Attend meetings, reviews, and school/college events where possible.
· Support agreed learning or behaviour strategies at home.
· Encourage your child’s independence and celebrate their progress.
· Share concerns early so we can work together on solutions.
3. What the School Encourages from Pupils (where appropriate)
· Try their best in all activities.
· Show kindness and respect to others.
· Take part in learning and therapy activities.
· Communicate their needs in the way that works best for them.
· Help keep themselves and others safe.
· Celebrate achievements—big and small.
4. Working in Partnership
· Annual reviews will be used to reflect on and revise this agreement as needed.
· A joined-up approach between school, family, and external professionals supports better outcomes.
· The school/college will always act in the best interests of the child while working collaboratively with families.
5. Online & Remote Learning
· We will provide support for digital learning if needed, with clear instructions and appropriate tools.
· Staff and families will communicate respectfully when using digital platforms.
· Any use of remote or online learning will follow safeguarding protocols.
6. Behaviour, Safety & Wellbeing
· The school promotes emotional regulation, mutual respect, and positive behaviour.
· Behaviour plans will be developed in collaboration with families and reviewed regularly.
· Staff use consistent, supportive strategies that reflect pupils’ individual needs.
· All safeguarding concerns will be taken seriously and managed in line with policy.
Agreement and Understanding
By accepting a place at Harlow Fields School and College, families enter into this shared agreement.
We understand that not every family is able to formally sign or return documents. However, we believe that by working together and maintaining open, respectful communication, we can provide the very best support for your child.
