Remote Learning Provision Introduction
At Harlow Fields School and College, we are committed to ensuring that all our pupils continue to receive high-quality education, even when learning remotely. Our remote learning provision is designed to meet the diverse needs of our pupils, ensuring that they can engage with the curriculum effectively and maintain their progress.
Aims of Remote Learning:
- Continuity of Education: To provide a structured learning environment that allows pupils to continue their education without interruption.
- Accessibility: To ensure that all pupils have access to learning materials and support tailored to their individual needs.
- Engagement: To foster an engaging and interactive learning experience that keeps pupils motivated and connected with their peers and teachers.
Remote Learning Approach:
- Learning Platform: We utilise Microsoft Teams as our primary platform for delivering lessons and resources. Where appropriate all pupils will receive training on how to use Microsoft Teams effectively to access learning materials and participate in live sessions.
- Curriculum Delivery: Our curriculum is adapted for remote learning, ensuring that it remains relevant and accessible for all pupils. Lessons will include a mix of live teaching sessions, recorded lessons, and independent tasks to cater to different learning styles.
Support and Resources:
Pupils will have access to a variety of resources, including worksheets, videos, and interactive activities through Microsoft Teams.
Additional support will be provided for pupils with SEND, including differentiated tasks and one-to-one support where necessary.
- Communication:Regular communication will be maintained between teachers, pupils, and parents to ensure that everyone is informed and supported. Weekly check-ins will be scheduled to discuss progress and address any concerns.
- Monitoring and Feedback: Teachers will monitor pupil engagement and progress through assessments and feedback on completed tasks. Constructive feedback will be provided to help pupils improve and stay motivated.
- Wellbeing and Support: We understand that remote learning can present challenges for pupils’ wellbeing. Our staff is trained to provide emotional support and to promote mental health during this time. We encourage pupils to reach out to their teachers or designated staff members if they are feeling overwhelmed or need additional support.
