Lower School: Laying the Foundations

In Lower School, pupils explore the world of work and begin to develop essential life skills.

Upper School: Structured Guidance

As pupils move into Upper School, careers education becomes more tailored and structured, following the Gatsby Benchmarks for high-quality careers guidance.

Key initiatives include:

  • Personalised Career Guidance: Tailored advice to explore interests and potential career paths.
  • Work Experience Opportunities: Placements and shadowing in areas of interest.
  • Career Fairs & Networking Events: Meeting employers, FE providers, and training organisations.

 

Sixth Form: Preparing for Adulthood

Our Sixth Form programme focuses on preparing pupils for further education, training, or employment.

  • In-Depth Career Planning: Exploring pathways aligned to individual goals.
  • Interview Preparation & CV Workshops: Practical training for presenting to employers or institutions.
  • Continued Support & Mentorship: Ongoing guidance throughout Sixth Form.

 

Provider Access

In line with Provider Access Legislation, Harlow Fields School and College ensures pupils have access to further education, training, and employment providers. Our Provider Access Policy is reviewed annually, with the next review scheduled for 31 August 2026.
